Updating and uninstalling

Keep yaaa up to date with yaaa update, go back to an earlier version, or remove yaaa from your computer.

Updating

yaaa update

Installs the latest version in one step, keeps the previous one, refreshes your agents’ skills, and restarts the desktop notifier.

  • yaaa update --check only says whether there’s a newer version.
  • yaaa update --to 0.1.1 installs a specific version, including an older one.
  • Running the install command again also updates.

The update notice

At most once a day, yaaa checks for a new version and says so in one line under a command’s output. It never does for agents (--json or piped output), the MCP server, or in CI. YAAA_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1 turns it off.

Uninstalling

First, turn off desktop notificationsyaaa notify uninstall
Then remove yaaarm -rf ~/.yaaa ~/.local/bin/yaaa

Your account stays in ~/.config/yaaa, so reinstalling picks up where you left off. To forget it too, save your recovery key, then delete that folder. The skills stay in your agents’ skills folders (for example ~/.claude/skills/yaaa-buyer and yaaa-advisor); delete those folders to remove them.
