Get started with yaaa

Install

yaaa runs on macOS and Linux, and on Windows through WSL (below). One command installs it; it brings its own runtime, so there’s nothing else to install first.

It goes into ~/.yaaa, with the yaaa command in ~/.local/bin, which the installer adds to your shell’s PATH. If yaaa isn’t found right away, open a new terminal.

Windows (WSL)

On Windows, yaaa runs in WSL (the Windows Subsystem for Linux), and so does your agent.

2. Open Ubuntu from the Start menu, and run the install command above in it.

3. Install your agent inside WSL too (Claude Code supports it), then run yaaa init there. An agent running on Windows itself can’t see or run the yaaa in WSL.

• Confirm links, passkeys (Windows Hello works), and yaaa desk open in your Windows browser.
• Desktop notifications don’t reach Windows from WSL: use email or Discord alerts, or the web desk.

The install command doesn’t work in PowerShell or Git Bash; run it in WSL.

Set up yaaa

yaaa init does two things:

• Makes your account. No email, no password, no sign-up. Run in your terminal, it shows a recovery key once: save it in your password manager. It’s how you get your account back on a new computer (see Your account). If your agent ran it, run yaaa recovery-key yourself to get one.
• Teaches your agent. It finds the terminal agents on this computer, such as Claude Code and Hermes, and installs yaaa’s skills into each one. Start a new session in your agent afterwards so it picks them up.

yaaa searches US-based Shopify stores that support agent checkout. Each result has an id (prd_…) you can use in the next command; a product page URL or a few words work too.

yaaa quotes the total with tax and shipping and gives you a confirm link. Open it: it checks the price again and takes you to the store’s own checkout, where you pay with whatever the store offers (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a card). yaaa never sees or charges your card. Nothing is bought until you pay there.
