Troubleshooting
Check yaaa with yaaa doctor, read exit codes, fix common problems, and get help.
yaaa doctor
yaaa doctorChecks everything and says what’s wrong:
- API: whether yaaa’s service answers, its version, and how fast.
- yaaa version: if this yaaa is too old for the service, it says how to update.
- account: this computer’s account, which service it’s signed in to, and whether it has a recovery key.
- agents: which terminal agents it found, and whether their yaaa skills are installed and current.
Exit codes
Every command exits with a code your agent (or a script) can act on:

Common problems
“This device has no yaaa account yet”
Run yaaa init. If you had an account, use yaaa init --restore or yaaa init --passkey to get it back.
“Profile … is signed in to …, not …”
yaaa only sends your sign-in to the service it came from. This shows up when YAAA_API_URL or --api-url points somewhere else; leave them out.
“The store isn’t supported”, or “… is based in Australia”
yaaa can buy from US-based Shopify stores that support agent checkout. A store based in another country is refused during the beta, even if it ships to the US. Search for the product to find a store yaaa can buy from, or ask for the store in our Discord’s #store-requests.
The confirm link expired
Run the purchase again for a fresh quote: yaaa buy links work for 60 minutes, price watch links for 24 hours.
Tax and shipping say “shown at the store’s checkout”
The store’s checkout was busy with agents, so the link opens your cart there. You’ll see the full total before you pay.
Too many requests
yaaa limits how fast one account can search and buy. Wait the time it gives and try again.
On Windows: “install yaaa inside WSL”, or an error from PowerShell
The install command runs in Linux, not in PowerShell or Git Bash. Install WSL and run it there: see Windows (WSL).
In WSL: links don’t open in the browser
yaaa opens links in your Windows browser through PowerShell (or wslview, if you’ve installed it). If WSL can’t run Windows programs, or PowerShell is blocked, yaaa prints the link instead: copy it into your browser. To check, run powershell.exe -Command "Start-Process 'https://yaaa.io'" in WSL.
No notifications
Run yaaa notify status and yaaa notify test. On macOS, allow notifications for the notifier in System Settings → Notifications.

Ask in the YAAA Discord’s help forum, with the output of yaaa doctor. For something private, email support@nxis.ai.
Never share your recovery key, tokens, or the files in ~/.config/yaaa, in Discord or anywhere else. We’ll never ask for them.
For an order itself (shipping, returns, refunds), contact the store you bought from.
