Search

Search by name, brand, or keywords. Filters narrow it down:

• --min and --max: a price range, in US dollars.
• --min-rating: only products rated at least this many stars (0 to 5). Add --min-reviews 20 so a perfect score from two reviews doesn’t count.
• --size and --color: like --size 10 --color black. --gender takes women, men, or unisex, and --condition new or secondhand. These come from the store’s catalog, which fills them in for most products; one that isn’t labelled may be left out.
• --in-stock: only products you can buy now.
• --store <domain>: only one store, like --store allbirds.com.
• --cheapest: cheapest first, and the cheapest store first when several sell the same product.
• --ships-to <country>: a two-letter country code. yaaa is in beta in the US, so it’s US unless your preferences say otherwise.
• --limit <n>: how many results, up to 50. When there are more, yaaa prints a --cursor to add for the next page.

Results come from Shopify stores that support agent checkout (the Universal Commerce Protocol), not the whole internet. During the beta, only stores based in the US are included, so prices are in dollars and shipping is domestic. Stores that block agents are left out.

Product details and alternatives

Shows the description, features, rating, each variant’s price and stock, and other stores that sell the same product. A product id, a product page URL, or a few words all work.

Get a quote

• --variant: a variant id or name, like “black” or “10.5”. Without it, yaaa picks the product’s default variant; a name it doesn’t know gets a list of the ones there are.
• --qty <n>: how many.
• --max <usd>: refuse if the total, with tax and shipping, is higher.

Every quote stays within your spending limits ($500 a purchase and $1,000 a month until you change them). Over a limit, yaaa stops and says by how much.

Sometimes a store’s checkout is busy with agents. Then the quote shows tax and shipping as “shown at the store’s checkout”, and the confirm link opens your cart at the store instead.

The confirm link

Every purchase ends with a confirm link. You open it; your agent never does.

• Opening it checks the price again, then opens the store’s checkout with your item in it.
• You pay the store directly, with whatever it offers. A wallet such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay, or Google Pay fills in your address and card.
• A link from yaaa buy works for 60 minutes. After that, run yaaa buy again for a fresh quote.

Your order, receipt, shipping, and returns are with the store, as if you’d bought on its website.

What yaaa won’t buy

yaaa leaves these out of search and won’t quote or watch them: alcohol; tobacco, nicotine, and vaping products; cannabis and CBD; weapons and ammunition; fireworks and explosives; adult products; medicines and drugs; and counterfeit goods.

yaaa decides from each product’s description and its store, so now and then something slips through or is left out by mistake. Non-alcoholic drinks, glassware, and scents named after a drink aren’t restricted. If you think yaaa got one wrong, tell us on Discord.
