Your account

yaaa accounts need no sign-up. Keep yours safe with a recovery key, add a passkey, and use it on more than one device.

No sign-up

yaaa init makes an account with no email, password, or name. It lives on this computer; your recovery key, or a passkey, is how you use it anywhere else.

yaaa whoami

Your recovery key

yaaa init shows a recovery key once. Save it in your password manager: with it, yaaa init --restore brings your account back on any computer.

  • yaaa keeps only a fingerprint of it, so it can’t show it to you again.
  • It’s only shown in your own terminal, never to an agent: if your agent set yaaa up, run yaaa recovery-key yourself to make one.
  • yaaa recovery-key --replace makes a new one and asks for the current one first; the old one stops working. Lost it? Replace it on the web desk (yaaa desk, then Security), confirming with a passkey.

Never share it, never paste it into a chat with your agent, and never post it anywhere. Anyone with it can use your account. The yaaa team will never ask for it.

Passkeys

yaaa login

Adds a passkey (Touch ID, Face ID, or your phone) on yaaa.io. It opens your browser; you approve there. With a passkey you can sign in to the web desk from any browser, and set up yaaa on another computer without the recovery key.

Another device

On the new computer, install yaaa, then one of:

With a passkeyyaaa init --passkey
With the recovery key (it asks for it)yaaa init --restore

Both computers then use the same account. --restore asks for the key, so it stays out of your shell history (--restore - reads it from stdin, for example piped from your password manager’s CLI). --passkey prints a link and a short code; open the link on a device with your passkey, type the code, check when and where the request came from, and approve.

The web desk

yaaa desk opens your account in the browser: alerts, what’s in progress, settings (spending limits, email and Discord alerts), and security (passkeys, your recovery key, and the devices signed in). See Alerts.

Its sign-in link is only shown in your own terminal. If a browser is already signed in to another yaaa account, the desk says which account the link opens and asks before switching. With a passkey on your account, raising a spending limit, sending alerts somewhere new, changing passkeys, or replacing the recovery key asks you to confirm with it.

yaaa Plus

yaaa Plus is the paid plan: more watches and restocks, more quotes a day, faster checks, and longer watches, for $6.99 a month or $59 a year, plus sales tax. yaaa plus gets it, yaaa plus status shows your plan, and yaaa plus manage changes or cancels it. See Plans.

Signing out

yaaa logout

Signs this computer out and forgets the account here. The account itself stays: get it back with yaaa init --restore or --passkey. Without either, a signed-out account can’t be recovered.

Linking a Shop account (yaaa shop link) is coming soon. yaaa works without it.
